Communication on SWmud

The following commands help anyone communicate:

tell     reply     say     rsay     whisper     emote     shout

A tell will tell someone in confidence; only you and the person you're communicating with will see it. You do not have to be in the same room; this works across the mud.
(Example: tell joe Hey, how are you doing?)

A reply responds to the last person who sent you a tell. It's a shortcut in which you don't have to use the respondant's name. Keep in mind, it will respond to the _last_ person who sent you a tell. Make sure that's the person you want to reply to.
(Example: reply Yeah, we are having great weather.)

A say is a comment to everyone in the room.
(Example: say What's up, gang?)

An rsay will speak aloud in the room in your racial tongue so that only those of your race (or HM diplomats who have learned your language) will be able to understand you. Other races will see garbled message.
(Example: rsay So, anything new?)

A whisper will send a private message to a player in the room. No one else in the room will overhear a whisper to someone else, though they will know you are whispering together.
(Example: whisper joe What's going on here?)

A shout communicates to the entire mud. Be aware that your social points (sps) limit your ability to shout. Also be aware that you are broadcasting to the entire mud, so be civil.
(Example: shout Hi Everybody!)

In addition, the following player channels exist which help in communication:

guild     race     team     newbie

You can type in the name of a line to turn it on or turn it off. The mlines command will show you what channels are available to you.
